As leaders of the safeguarding system in Torbay, our commitment is to make the lives of children safer.
The Board is made up of professionals who work in services for children and families including health, education, police, fire and the voluntary sector. Members meet regularly to review safeguarding procedures and protocols throughout Torbay.
We work closely with the other three Local Safeguarding Children Boards across the South West Peninsula; i.e. Devon Children and Families Partnership, Plymouth Safeguarding Children Board and Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Safeguarding Children Partnership in order to share best practice and ensure that all children and their families across Devon and Cornwall & IOS are supported by the services and agencies available.
The TSCB has an overarching ambition for children in Torbay to be safer, through:
The TSCB aims to provide highly effective community and professional leadership in relation to universal, targeted and specialist safeguarding services and demonstrate high levels or influence across all areas where the safety and well-being of children and young people need to be considered.
The TSCB aims to achieve goals through quality assurance, audit and complaints, serious case reviews, training and workforce development and tasking and finish group work.
