Torbay Safeguarding Children Partnership

A Family Group Conference is an opportunity for children, young people, their parents and their extended families to be involved in the decision making processes when there are concerns about the safety and/or wellbeing of the child. They give families the chance to get together to talk about the concerns and to make the best plan possible for their children. It is a voluntary process for families and is facilitated by an Independent Co-ordinator.

A Family Group Conference will only go ahead if you agree to it, and if you change your mind you can cancel at any time. You can also decide when it happens, where it happens and who is invited.

The service is run by Torbay Council but is independent from the other services within the Council. The Family Group Conference Service is not involved in the safeguarding processes to ensure this independence. If you would like more information visit the Family Group Conferences page
